No, electives are completely optional. The core path (Scratch, Gen AI, Python, Python Advanced, Tinkercad) provides a comprehensive foundation. Minecraft and Roblox can be added anytime if your child wants to explore game development alongside the main curriculum.

This path is designed for intermediate to advanced learners. If your child is completely new to coding, we recommend starting with the Ages 7-11 path to build foundational skills first. However, motivated beginners age 11+ can start here — our Scratch module provides an accessible entry point.

Python Advanced covers object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, API integration, and project architecture. Students will build applications that rival early university-level projects. It’s designed to prepare students for competitions, portfolios, and future CS education.
